Denmark VAT Calculator (Moms)

Add Danish Moms to a net price or reverse it from a gross total. Denmark applies a flat 25% rate to all taxable supplies — there are no reduced rates for food, hospitality, or books. Enter any DKK amount to see the net, Moms, and gross breakdown instantly.

Quick example: DKK 10,000 net + 25% Moms = DKK 2,500 VAT = DKK 12,500 gross

Formula

Add Moms: Gross = Net × 1.25\nRemove Moms: Net = Gross ÷ 1.25

Denmark's single 25% rate simplifies the calculation. Net × 1.25 = Gross. Gross ÷ 1.25 = Net. Never subtract 25% from a gross — DKK 125 − 25% = DKK 93.75, not DKK 100.

Worked Example

IT consultancy invoice — 25%:

DKK 40,000 net × 1.25 = DKK 50,000 gross (Moms: DKK 10,000)

Business expense receipt:

DKK 625 gross ÷ 1.25 = DKK 500 net (Moms: DKK 125)

Common Mistakes

  • Looking for a reduced rate. Denmark has no reduced Moms rate. Food, medicine, and books are all taxed at 25%.
  • Subtracting 25% to remove Moms. DKK 125 − 25% = DKK 93.75. Correct: DKK 125 ÷ 1.25 = DKK 100.
  • Confusing DKK with EUR. Denmark uses the Danish krone (DKK), not the euro. The krone is pegged to approximately DKK 7.46 per EUR.
