About UtilityPilot
UtilityPilot is a free business calculator platform for VAT, GST, working days, invoice due dates, margins, CBM, SLA deadlines and shipping dates — built for operations teams, finance professionals, ecommerce sellers, and logistics managers.
UtilityPilot was built because finding reliable, ad-free business calculators is harder than it should be. Most tools either bury the result behind a login form, display intrusive advertising, or simply get the formula wrong.
The platform covers the most common day-to-day calculations in business: counting business days between project milestones, calculating VAT on international invoices, converting time entries for payroll, pricing products with the correct margin, and working out shipping volumes for freight quotes.
UtilityPilot covers over 40 countries across Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, the Middle East, South America, and Africa — with country-specific VAT rates, public holidays, and working week patterns calibrated per jurisdiction.
Every tool includes the formula used, a step-by-step how-to guide, a worked example, and a FAQ section — so you understand the result, not just the number. All calculations run entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is stored or transmitted.
Always Free
Every calculator on UtilityPilot is free to use. No account, no paywalled results, no ads disguised as tools.
Accurate & Transparent
All calculations are built on verified formulas. We explain the maths behind every result so you can check it yourself.
Built for Real Business
Designed around the calculations professionals actually need: logistics, finance, ecommerce, HR, and operations.
Fast & Focused
No clutter. Each tool gives you a clean form, a clear result, and an explanation — nothing more.
Methodology & Data Sources
How we build and maintain our calculators
Tax rate sourcing
VAT, GST, and sales tax rates are sourced directly from official government tax authority websites for each country. Rates are reviewed and updated whenever a country announces a change. The data source for each jurisdiction is listed below.
Public holiday data
Public holiday lists for each country are sourced from official government portals. Holiday data is reviewed annually and before major changes (e.g., the UK bank holiday calendar is updated each year from GOV.UK). Easter and other moveable feasts are calculated algorithmically for the reference year.
Calculation formulas
All formulas are shown on each calculator page so results can be independently verified. For standard calculations (VAT, GST, markup, margin), the formulas follow the universally accepted accounting definitions. For working-day calculations, the methodology (inclusive counting, weekend exclusion, holiday exclusion) is documented inline.
Browser-based privacy
All calculations execute locally in your browser using JavaScript. No input values, results, or session data are transmitted to our servers or third parties. This means UtilityPilot works offline once loaded, and your financial data never leaves your device.

How businesses use UtilityPilot
The tools are used in day-to-day business tasks — below are some examples of how different teams use them.
Finance team chasing an overdue invoice
An accounts receivable manager issues an invoice on 3 March under Net 30 terms. They use the Invoice Due Date Calculator to confirm the due date is 2 April. If that date falls on a weekend, they check the Real Due Date Calculator to find the first business day the payment can realistically be received.
Operations team tracking an SLA deadline
A support team lead receives a critical support ticket at 4 PM on a Friday. Their SLA requires resolution within 8 business hours. They use the SLA Deadline Calculator to confirm that the deadline falls at 11 AM on Monday — after the weekend is excluded.
Logistics team preparing an LCL shipment quote
An import manager needs to quote shipping costs for a mixed cargo shipment. They enter the outer carton dimensions for each product line into the CBM Calculator to get the total cubic metres, then use the Margin Calculator to check whether the landed cost still leaves an acceptable margin.
Ecommerce seller pricing for a VAT-registered market
A UK-based seller is launching a product at £80 net. They use the VAT Calculator to confirm the VAT-inclusive retail price is £96. For EU sales, they check the EU VAT Calculator to find the correct local rate for Germany, France, and the Netherlands.
HR administrator calculating notice period end date
An HR manager needs to confirm when a 30-business-day notice period expires. They use the Add Business Days Calculator and the UK Working Days Calculator to account for bank holidays within the notice window.
UtilityPilot calculators are practical support tools for planning and estimation purposes. Results should be verified before use in legally binding contracts or financial filings. See our Disclaimer for details.
