Business Days & Deadline Calculators

Count working days, add business days to a date, calculate SLA and shipping deadlines. Country-specific public holiday calendars for 40+ countries.

Who these calculators are for

Business day and deadline calculators are used wherever contract terms, SLA commitments, or operational schedules are measured in working days rather than calendar days:

  • Operations and customer service teams managing SLA compliance and response windows
  • Finance teams calculating real invoice due dates and payment windows
  • Supply chain and logistics managers scheduling dispatch and delivery dates
  • Legal and compliance teams working with statutory deadlines or contract notice periods
  • Project managers counting working days in a sprint, phase, or reporting period
  • HR and payroll teams calculating working day counts within pay periods

Why business days matter in international operations

The distinction between calendar days and business days is most critical in cross-border operations. A contract that says "payment within 30 days" in a UK/EU context usually means 30 calendar days. A contract that says "payment within 30 business days" adds roughly six additional weeks and skips weekends and bank holidays in the relevant country.

Public holidays vary significantly between countries. The UK has 8–9 bank holidays per year; the UAE and Saudi Arabia have longer Eid holiday periods. Germany has up to 13 public holidays in some states. These differences mean that the same "N business days from today" calculation produces different dates depending on which country's calendar applies.

The business day calculators on this page use official government holiday schedules for each country, updated annually. Always confirm the result with the official calendar when the deadline has legal or contractual consequences.

Responsible use

Public holiday calendars are updated annually using official government sources. Regional or state-level public holidays may not be fully included — for example, German public holidays vary by state (Bundesland), and some US states observe additional holidays. For legal deadlines, contract notice periods, or statutory obligations, always verify against the official calendar of the relevant jurisdiction. These calculators are planning tools, not legal references.
