Install UtilityPilot as an app for one-tap access, or add the browser extension so you can ask about any product page you are viewing — without leaving the tab.
Install the app
UtilityPilot works as an installable app on phones, tablets and computers. It opens full-screen, loads fast, and keeps a lightweight offline shell so the tools stay reachable.
Already installed, or use the steps below to add it manually.
If the one-tap button is not shown, your browser handles installation from its own menu — follow the platform steps below.
On iPhone or iPad (Safari)
- 1Open utilitypilot.net in Safari.
- 2Tap the Share button, then choose "Add to Home Screen".
- 3Tap Add — UtilityPilot now opens full-screen like an app.
On Android (Chrome)
- 1Open utilitypilot.net in Chrome.
- 2Tap the menu, then "Install app" or "Add to Home screen".
- 3Confirm — the app appears with your other apps.
On desktop (Chrome or Edge)
- 1Open utilitypilot.net.
- 2Click the install icon in the address bar, or use the one-tap button above.
- 3UtilityPilot opens in its own window.
What the installed app does
The installed app gives you the full UtilityPilot experience in its own window: Ask Pilot, the HS & HTS Code Finder, and every deterministic calculator. It behaves exactly like the website, just quicker to reach.
Offline limitations
Only the static shell and previously visited pages stay available offline. Asking Pilot a new question needs a connection, because interpretation happens on our servers. Nothing you type is cached for offline reuse.
Add the browser extension
The extension adds a small UtilityPilot button to your toolbar and a right-click option called “Ask UtilityPilot about this”. Highlight a product description on any page, and it opens UtilityPilot with your text ready to go. You always press send yourself — nothing is submitted for you.
Highlight and ask
Select text on a page, right-click, and choose “Ask UtilityPilot about this”. The selection is carried over as a starting question — for example a product title you want an HS code for.
How to install it
- 1Download the extension folder from the project files (extensions/utilitypilot-browser).
- 2Open your browser’s extensions page and turn on Developer mode.
- 3Choose "Load unpacked" and select the utilitypilot-browser folder.
- 4Pin UtilityPilot to your toolbar. You can now ask about any page you are viewing.
The extension is not yet published on the Chrome Web Store — it installs from the project files as an unpacked extension (a beta build).
Privacy & what is transmitted
- The extension only reads text you deliberately highlight and send. It does not track your browsing or read pages in the background.
- It stores no account, no history and no personal data, and it holds no secret keys.
- You always confirm before anything is sent — highlighted text simply pre-fills the question box.
- When you ask a question, it may be sent to UtilityPilot servers to interpret your wording. Every calculation is then performed by the same deterministic engine used across the site.
- Avoid pasting confidential, personal or sensitive information into a question — send only what is needed to describe the problem.
