Day Counter
Calculate the number of days between two dates. Perfect for SLA tracking, contract durations, project timelines, and invoice aging.
Worked Example
Scenario: You need to calculate the SLA response time between ticket creation (January 15, 2024) and resolution (January 22, 2024).
Steps:
- Enter Start Date: January 15, 2024
- Enter End Date: January 22, 2024
- Check "Include end date" if counting both days as full business days
- Click Calculate
Result: 8 total days, 1 week + 1 day, 6 weekdays (Mon-Fri), 2 weekend days (Sat-Sun). Your SLA compliance depends on whether 6 business days meets your requirement.
Formula
Total Days = (End Date - Start Date) / (1000 × 60 × 60 × 24) + 1 (if including end date)
To calculate the number of days between two dates: 1. Get the difference in milliseconds between the end date and start date 2. Convert milliseconds to days by dividing by (1000 × 60 × 60 × 24) 3. Add 1 if including the end date 4. Identify weekdays and weekends by checking the day of the week for each date in the range
